The Bachelor of Arts in Music at Montana State University is designed to enable students to combine concentrated music studies with a wide variety of areas outside of music.  In this program, students pursue core music studies in performance, theory, and history, along with a broad range of specialized music and outside subjects at a Carnegie Foundation "very high research activity" designated university.

Dynamic faculty work one-on-one in the studio, performers participate in a wide range of ensembles, and specialists lead academic courses. Students develop a program of study in consultation with their academic advisor. These programs may include specialized music and non-music electives, institutional certificates, or minors (examples below).  Skills and knowledge acquired while studying in the Bachelor of Arts in Music program allow students the flexibility to follow many career paths both in music and a variety of other fields… MUSIC & MORE at MSU.
