AY 2023-2024

The College of Education, Health and Human Development will provide funds during 2023-2024 for undergraduate and graduate students who are presenting as first author or actively presenting in an oral group presentation at either virtual or in person professional meetings and conferences. Co-authors on posters or oral presentations will not be funded. Scholarships will be awarded equitably across departments and for as long as funds are available.  Funds will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis. Each student will receive up to $500. Students may be at any education level and must be currently enrolled at MSU when applying (conference may occur after graduation). Students are eligible to apply for one scholarship per academic year.

Funding for students receiving student travel support under any one project mentor will be limited to a maximum of five students or a total of $3,000 if spread across greater than five students. Faculty are encouraged to use IRD, research grants, or other funding sources to support students when this limit has been reached.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Students complete the form below which will be submitted automatically to Dr. Mary Miles (mmiles@montana.edu). Once the student receives approval from Dr. Miles, they should work with their project mentor and jobsEHHD (jobsehhd@montana.edu, 406-994-6501) in the EHHD Dean's Office to access the funds.

AFTER THE TRAVEL

Students who receive EHHD student travel scholarships are required to present their work either at the Student Research Symposium at the end of both fall and spring semesters, or to submit a presentation for the College of EHHD 3-Minute Thesis ® (EHHD 3MT) competition to be held during spring semester. Information about the Student Research Celebration may be found here and information about EHHD 3MT will be emailed to faculty and students toward the beginning of each spring semester.
