- The search for a new Director of Sustainability will begin after final edits to the job description are completed.

- Paul Lachapelle: recommended that CSAC maintain regular meeting minutes, follow Open Meeting requirements, and align its efforts with Choosing Promise
- Bode Kostick: recommended that CSAC maintain regular meeting minutes
- Preparing for STARS 3.0: Office of Sustainability
a. Key changes from Version 2.2
b. Link credits to ongoing programming- After MSU improved from STARS Silver in 2019 to STARS Gold in 2023 using STARS version 2.2, AASHE has since updated the reporting tool. MSU’s next submission will use STARS version 3.0.
- During Fall 2025, the Office of Sustainability will focus on improving credits AC-1 (Academic Courses) and OP-10 (Purchased Goods).
- CSAC Working Session
a. Review and assess programs that have strengthened MSU’s sustainability culture
b. Discuss future meeting structure for effectiveness and outcomes.
c. Identify next steps- Examples such as tunnel tours and website communications are useful tools for connecting students with existing campus sustainability features.
- During the November meeting, the Office of Sustainability will provide CSAC with a list of tools previously used to communicate with students.
- Working Group Updates
- After Garrett Wright was hired as the Zero Waste Coordinator in the Office of Sustainability in July 2025, recent efforts have included partnering with University Student Housing and Facilities Services to provide additional educational materials and infrastructure to reduce waste during Move-In of August 2025.
