Good Relations Learning Community

The Good Relations Learning Community is a student cohort comprised of first-year Native students at Montana State University.Students engage in cultural learning opportunities, mentorship, and professional/university success workshops in order to make the first year as successful and fun as possible. Ultimately, we strive to provide first-year Native students with a community of their peers who can continue to learn, grow, and support each other throughout their college careers. The Good Relations Learning Community seeks to achieve this through:

  • Personalized events to foster community
  • University/Professional development workshops
  • Cultural workshops (i.e. ribbon skirt/shirt making)
  • Peer Mentorship
  • One on one tutoring

If you are an incoming Native first-year or transfer student and would like to join the Good Relations Learning Community, please contact Chance Cummings at chance.cummings@montana.edu or sign up using this linkhttps://shorturl.at/mnxYZ. The Good Relations Learning Community accepts students throughout the academic year, however, to get the most out of the program we recommend signing up for our Native Pathways To Student Success Orientation.

Building MSU Families

Building MSU Families program is a pilot program that is working towards connecting students with a mentor that work at MSU. The Building MSU Families program has an exciting opportunity for Indigenous students (nieces/nephews/relatives) and MSU faculty/staff (aunties/uncles/relatives) to develop relationships that build a sense of family and community during and after the students’ journeys at MSU.

If you are interested in joining Building MSU Families please contact Lisa Perry at lisa.perry2@montana.edu
