Science Teaching – Online Graduate Certificates
Designed for teachers of all backgrounds – from K-12 teachers to museum professionals – the online graduate certificates in Science Education allow science educators of all backgrounds to gain knowledge and competence in one of sevenspecialized content areas. Offered through the Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) program, the 12-credit graduate certificates are offered completely online so that busy professionals are able to stay abreast on new topics in science and pedagogy while maintaining their busy work schedules. With instructors who are experts in their fields teaching each class, students can rest assured that the coursework is rigorous, content-focus and specifically designed for teachers.

The National Teachers Enhancement Network began providing educators with high-quality
online courses in 1993. In 2020, the courses were integrated into the MSSE program.

Distance Learning
Montana State’s online graduate certificates in Science Education are designed to accommodate educators who wish to advance their education while still working in the classroom. The online learning experience allows teachers to maintain their busy professional lives and apply their learning in real time.
Courses are 100% online and asynchronous, so students can log in at any time to complete their coursework. Interested students can take advantage of the popular summer field and lab courses that utilze the diverse environment of Montana to teach scientific principles and provide models of field-based instruction.
