Applied Mathematics

Applied Mathematics – B.S. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics Emphasis

Students within the Applied Mathematics program at Montana State learn to describe physical phenomena within the world using deterministic models. Applied Mathematics students will use their skills in mathematical analysis and computational science to draw insights in the biological and physical science fields, as well as other applications.

The Mathematics major at Montana State offers two additional Options Within the Major: Mathematics and Statistics.

Directed Reading Program
The Directed Reading Program is a semester long, reading-based mentoring program for undergraduate students that aims to enhance the mathematics and statistics community at Montana State by exploring mathematical and statistics interests with a graduate student mentor in a low-stress environment.
